Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites
Welcome to Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites, a hidden gem in Anchorage, Alaska that offers a unique and cozy stay for travelers. Despite some mixed reviews, this hotel has surprisingly pleasant surprises waiting for its guests.
Located at 1020 W 12th Ave, Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites provides a convenient and comfortable experience. The rooms may need a bit of updating, especially the bathrooms, but they are equipped with essential amenities like a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The view from certain rooms, especially those facing west, offers breathtaking sights of the bay and possibly even Denali on clear days.
One standout feature of this hotel is the breakfast system. Guests can obtain a free breakfast voucher for the next day by visiting the front desk after 4 pm. The voucher allows for a choice of breakfast options, including sandwiches, burritos, oatmeal, and more, along with a drink and fruit or yogurt. If you can't use the voucher the next morning, you can use it for a discount at the on-site restaurant that evening.
Another aspect worth praising is the friendly and accommodating staff at both the hotel and restaurant. The location is conveniently close to downtown Anchorage, making it easy to explore the area.
Overall, Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites offers a comfortable and convenient stay with stunning views and unique amenities. Despite its flaws, it has a charm that might just make you want to return for your next trip to Anchorage.

Despite the very low ratings submitted by others (2 stars), I am about to write a pretty good review for this hotel for my very first Alaskan trip (as I'm writing this, I'm still staying in my room; I will go home early tomorrow AM.) It's true that this is not a fancy hotel to say in the most frank way. The rooms can definitely utilize some upgrades especially the bathrooms. But overall quality of the room is decent. It's got a kitchenette with good-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, etc. There is no stove to cook food in a real sense but hey, at least you can warm up your food with the microwave, right? It's my understanding that all rooms are pretty quiet (this is also based solely on my experience being in room 908 which is a corner room facing west; west side is better as you'll have a great view.) 9th floor is not the top floor and yet I heard absolutely nobody up above me when the hotel was at the full capacity. And the view from my room? Fantastic! Overlooking the bay which is about a mile or two away from the hotel was something I truly enjoyed every morning and night (the sunset was gorgeous!!) You might get lucky to be able to see Denali if it's not too hazy? Not sure. I really like the system they have for breakfast. Every day (after 4pm), you go to the front desk and get your free breakfast voucher for the next day. You'll get to pick a meal from 6 different combos (breakfast sandwich, burrito, oatmeal, bagel etc.) and they all come with a choice of your drink (drip coffee or juice), and fruit or yogurt. If you have a super early flight next morning and you cannot use your voucher you can simply take you voucher ($5) to the restaurant (not the breakfast bar: a separate full service restaurant on premise) and get a discount on your food that night (cannot use it for alcohol however.) The hotel and restaurant staff I had interacted with were all pleasant and nice. Great location that's close enough to the center of downtown. One cute thing I saw was that they had a yoga session with baby goats right outside of the hotel restaurant (is that called "goga"??) Not sure if it was just a one-off occasion. I'll upload a picture of it. Anyway, I'll stay here again if I get to come to Anchorage in the near future! I slept well every night!!
